Year 1 - Learning About the Seasons

This week Pegasus Class have been learning about the seasons and the changes that come from the summer turning into autumn. We went for a walk to Mile end park and had a look at and drew an oak tree. We will be visiting the same tree throughout the year to see how the different seasons affect its growing and what changes will happen to the tree over time. We have also been talking about how the days are becoming shorter by turning darker earlier and why that is happening. Pegasus class loved visiting the oak tree at Mile End park as they have been learning the oa sound in phonics, they enjoyed being able to make the connection when they saw the oak tree and everyone labelled their drawings! Maybe you can draw another tree to show your carers at home what the tree looked like?
